A Month In The Life Of A Streaking Runner – Day 2

Tuesday, October 2nd – 6 miles

This morning for my run I was at my Mom’s.  She lives about an hour and a half away in the town where I grew up.  Mom had a stroke about 6 years ago.  She is fine mentally, but has a weak leg – so she doesn’t drive anymore or go up and down a lot of stairs.  So, I go up to her house one or two nights a week to do what I call my “Mom chores”.  This includes her laundry, grocery shopping, banking and other little things.  We go out to dinner and lunch – so, it’s a nice little time together.

Anyway, the temperature is usually 10 degrees or so cooler at her house than it is at mine.  As you can see by the picture, it was 35 degrees when I ran this morning.  Definitely a glove morning!

Monday is usually a medium-length run after Sunday easy/rest day.  Got up a little before 5:30 and got my run in before getting Mom up and finishing my “Mom chores”.  :-)

I’m not sure why; but, my legs were a little draggy this morning.  I’m going to chalk it up to not using my foam roller last night and a crazy weekend.  (We had a cruise in at Hubby’s garage). But, got my scheduled 6 in and felt good!

That’s it for today.  Today’s run was just an easy-paced run – so nothing super exciting.  Speed work tomorrow!

  1. Loved learning more about you – I had to read your bio to be sure I knew what you meant by “streaking” – LOL ( I grew up in the 70s when that was a common occurrence!
