Running Podcast – Relief From Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis.  If you’ve had it – you know the pain.  But, the good news about Plantar Fasciitis is that it’s something that you can deal with in the early stages and get relief.

I’m going through a bout of Plantar Fasciitis right now – and you’re right – I’m not happy about it.  Anything that keeps me from doing the mileage that I want to do makes me extremely unhappy.  But, I also know that I’ve dealt with this before – and that if I run smartly – it will go away in a little while.

Plantar Fasciitis is the subject of today’s podcast.  I’ve found something that I’m in love with that has really given me relief.  Listen in:

I don’t like being injured – and I’m going to do what I can to get over anything quickly.  (And, I also admit that I’ve been blessed in my running.  I listen to my body and back off when it tells me to! :-))

Icing, massage and stretching are what you need to be doing if you find yourself with Plantar Fasciitis.  Now, I’m not sure if my wonderful “miracle” sleeve is what’s helped so much – or the fact that I’ve been icing and stretching like crazy – but, I highly recommend trying this sleeve if you have problems with your arch and heels.  http://judyruns.com/heelrelief I absolutely love the fact that I can wear this all day – running, resting and even while sleeping!

If you take care of Plantar Fasciitis early- it is something that you can work through yourself.  And, you can still run if you run slowly and easily – no hills, speedwork – or distance.  If you have access to a treadmill – that also helps.  BUT, if you find that you are in severe pain -please make sure that you go see your doctor.  It may be something more serious.

Yes, I’m not a happy camper right now with my little heel pain – but it is getting better.  Today, it was a lot easier to run – and the major discomfort went away earlier.  So, I just know that it will be gone in just a little bit.  (Yes, I’m still the eternal optimist!)

I’m not sure why my body wanted a break right now – but I’ll take it easy for a few more days and pacify it.  After all, it’s kept me running all these years!

Run Happy!
Judy
